Regarding flexible couplings, Universal Coupling has been around for the longest. Its most well-known use, however, is in vehicles like cars and trucks. It's put there to transmit torque at the point where two shafts meet at an angle. This is the gearbox's output shaft, part of the vehicle's transmission system.
